It's that time of year again to put on your best Santa suit and pub crawl during the day!

This will be our third year bringing Santacon to St. Louis! (Legality note- There's another group who does a Santacon as well.)

What is Santacon you ask? Santacon is when a large group of people get together on a Saturday day in December, dressed like Santa of course, and pub crawl while singing naughty Christmas carols!

We'll plan to meet at Hammerstones at 9:30 a.m. for anyone who wants an awesome breakfast with their first beer of the day.

The Santacon Pub Crawl Schedule!
9:30 am - 11:30 Hammerstone's @ 2028 S. 9th Street
11:30 - 1:00 D's Place @ 900 Barton
1:00 - 2:30 Cat's Meow @ 2600 S. 11th Street
2:30 - 4:00 McGurk's @ 1200 Russell
4:00 - 5:30 Great Grizzly Bear @ 1027 Geyer
5:30 - 6:30 The Shanti @ 825 Allen
6:30 - 7:30 and on to Molly's (for all you late arrivers and maraton crawlers!) @ 816 Geyer

The good news this year is all the bars except The Shanti and Molly's offer food, so you can eat any time during the day when you get the rumblings.

If you plan on meeting up with the crawl at some point during the day, don't be shocked if we're not exactly on schedule. If you were there last year, you know what I'm talking about. Take a look for us lingering at the previous bar or stumbling down the route path.

A Great Tip- Bringing cash makes the bar crawling easier and faster. You don't want to spend your whole day trying to close out your tab for one beer.

The weather for Santacon as of Wednesday 12/3 says it should be mostly cloudy with highs near 40. We all know what living in St. Louis is like, so take that as you will and come prepared.

Don't forget your Santa/Mrs. Claus/Elf/Snowman/Other gear, a print out of the naughty Christmas Carols, good walking shoes, and a flask.

The Santacon pub crawl schedule has been posted! We will begin at 9:00 am (Note this was previously 8:00 am but it seemed to be too early to get a good crowd).

We will first meet at Hammerstones in Soulard. 2028 S 9th St., St. Louis, MO 63104. They have awesome breakfast to kick off the day!

Pub Crawl Schedule for SantaCon

The Santacon pub crawl schedule has been posted! We will begin at 10:30 am. If you can't make the start time, come along anyway and catch up with us on our route.

We will first meet at Hammerstone's in Soulard. 2028 S 9th St., St. Louis, MO 63104.

From Hammerstone's we will venture to The Shanti at 825 Allen Ave, St. Louis, MO 63104.

From The Shanti we will head to Big Daddy's, 1000 Sidney St. Louis, MO 63104

And finish up at The Cat's Meow.....2600 S 11th St. St., Louis, MO 63104

What comes after the Cat's Meow you ask? Whatever we feel- Santacon doesn't have to end until you want it to!

What is SantaCon?

Many cities throughout the United States have celebrated SantaCon by organizing a mass gathering of people, dressed as Santa of course, on a Saturday morning in December for a pub crawl with naughty Christmas carols. Since SantaCon has never been done in St.Louis, a group of 20 and 30-somethings are going to kick it off this year! Hopefully, this will be the beginning of a wonderful relationship between St. Louis and Santa!

The first location of the SantaCon pub crawl will remain a secret until the wee hours of SantaCon morning. The mystery location will be posted on this site, along with naughty Christmas carols and other fun things- so check back and join the fun!

SantaCon is a mass gathering of people dressed in cheap Santa Claus costumes, performing publicly on streets and in bars. The focus is on spontaneity, creativity, and the improvisational nature of human interaction while having a good time.

Variously known as Santarchy, Santa Rampage and the Red Menace, SantaCon events are noted for bawdy and harmless behavior, including the singing of naughty Christmas carols, and the giving of gifts. Some participants see SantaCon as a postmodern revival of Saturnalia, while others see the event as a precursor of the flash mob.
In 1994, the Cacophony Society staged the first SantaCon in San Francisco. Influenced by the surrealist movement, Discordianism, and other subversive art currents, the Cacophonists decided to celebrate the Yule season in a distinctly anti-commercial manner, by mixing guerrilla street theatre, pranksterism, and public intoxication.
